Inspired by the Italian educational approach Reggio Emilia, our teachers create classroom environments and curricula based on ideas and themes meaningful to the children. Through purposeful play, discovery and exploration of these topics, children develop a lifelong love of learning and gain the skills necessary for kindergarten. |

The Eliza Corwin Frost Child Center, a separate 501(c)3 organization, grew out of Christ Church’s commitment to the wellness of children. The Child Center is a unique facility that focuses on the child’s earliest years of learning. It is a memorial to Eliza Corwin Frost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Corwin Frost. The philosophy of the program entails providing each child with the opportunity to grow, develop and socialize in a warm, caring and nurturing atmosphere. The emphasis is on socialization, building self-esteem, providing age-appropriate materials and discovery—learning through play and having fun! The age range of children at the Center is 12 months through four years old. Each class is made of up of six to fourteen children who are guided by caring and sensitive staff especially selected with the needs of the very young child in mind. The center is open five days a week from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and afternoons, 12:30 to 3:00 PM. Registration applications for the following year are available at the Center in November. Priority is given to members of Christ Church. For more information, please contact Directors Juli Arlt or Jean Romeo at (914) 779-4852. |
