The goal of Children’s Christian Formation at Christ Church is to help our children learn the Bible more fully, grasp their faith more deeply, and gain a tangible sense of God’s love for them. Much of the curriculum revolves around the art of storytelling and active engagement with the great stories of our faith. Additional crafts and activities will be offered each week to augment the learning of this material, but at the end of the day it is these stories of God’s relationship with humanity that we want our children to know. |

| Nursery Care Our Nursery, located on the first floor of the Child Center, is staffed by two loving and caring professionals, including a teacher from the Eliza Corwin Frost Child Center. The Nursery is open from 9:45 AM until Noon each Sunday. Parents are also welcomed and encouraged to serve as extra volunteers. Godly Play (Age three through First Grade) Godly Play is a marvelous method of Christian education and spiritual direction primarily for younger children. It is widely used in Episcopal churches. The goal of Godly Play is to teach children the art of using religious language, parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence around them and in their lives. Godly Play is Montessori-based and uses wonderful high-quality wooden pieces to focus the children’s attention on the specialness of the story and encourage them to internalize their faith through the rhetorical questions that are part of the story-telling. To learn more visit www.godlyplay.com. Children in Godly Play will learn the Lord’s Prayer. Godly Dialogue (Second Grade through Sixth Grade) Building on the philosophy of Godly Play, Godly Dialogue allows children to build an awareness of God’s presence by engaging the stories of our Faith. Each weekly session features dialogue about topics and stories that encourage the children to examine the relationship between their lives and their faith. Please contact Barbara Potgieter, Christian Formation Coordinator (bpotgieter@ccbny.org), for more information or visit us at www.ccbny.org. Classrooms for Church School are posted in the undercroft and outside Taylor Hall.
