Acolytes
Young people grow in their understanding of Christian worship through participation in church as acolytes. Such work is important and requires both commitment and knowledge. Acolytes are trained individually or in small groups and each takes a regular turn every few weeks as assigned, commencing in seventh grade with an assignment as Taperer, carrying a torch in procession. Acolytes in high school carry the processional cross as Clerk and then, when they are sixteen, are eligible to serve as Chalice Bearers. |

Ushers
All members of Christ Church (including youth!) are welcome to become ushers. As our trained, official hosts, they greet parishioners, distribute service leaflets, collect alms and assist those who need help. Ushers are assigned to teams that are on duty at approximately one Sunday service every four weeks. Ushers are also called upon to serve at Christmas and Easter services, if it is convenient for them. If you are interested, please call Karen Carpenter (667-1974). We’d be happy to accommodate your busy schedule and would love to have you! Fall 2009 Usher Schedule |
