Essential to the mission of Christ Church is our involvement with and activity in the local and the global community. Throughout the year we designate several Sundays to focus our attention on how we can make a difference, and we coordinate those Sundays with hands on projects that support our ongoing outreach interests. In addition, we are blessed by our relationships with Mission Partners, who join us in these efforts. |
| CCB’s Global Mission
Global Mission is Christ Church’s international outreach effort. It grows out of our understanding that we are called to embrace the joyful responsibility of helping those in need. Such mission is especially important in countries where the local population doesn’t have the resources to help themselves. These efforts are meant to share God’s love, to support self-sustaining projects, and to build relationships and awareness. They are not meant as tools for conversion. For more information on Malawi or how you can help, please contact Ken Richardson, Executive Director of Global Mission, at krichardson@ccbny.org. |

| Midnight Run and Breakfast Run
Midnight Run is a volunteer organization dedicated to finding common ground between the housed and the homeless. Midnight Run volunteers distribute food, clothing, blankets and personal care items to the homeless poor on the streets of New York City. The late-night relief efforts create a forum for trust, sharing, understanding and affection. That human exchange, rather than the exchange of goods, is the essence of the Midnight Run mission. In addition to the Midnight Run, Christ Church also offers Breakfast Runs several times a year. Younger children, generally middle schoolers, help the homeless poor by serving breakfast and distributing clothing and other essential items. There is a Midnight Run every month, normally Fridays, and a Breakfast Run every three months, on Sundays. For more information, please contact the Church Office. |

| Iglesia San Andres
San Andres, an Episcopal church serving a primarily Latino congregation, evolved out of the congregation of St. Andrew’s Memorial Church, which was founded in the City of Yonkers, in 1894. The congregations of Christ Church and San Andres work together throughout the year. |

| Fessenden House
Fessenden House is a housing facility in Yonkers for men recovering from drug and alcohol addiction who are also dealing with major health problems. With oversight provided by the staff, (Episcopal monks Brother Christopher Jenks and Randy Horton), the community ethos of Fessenden House enables men who have “slipped through the cracks” to find a home and support system. Christ Church clergy say Mass at Fessenden House regularly and take part in Morning Prayer, and parishioners serve on the board and provides support in a variety of ways. This year we introduce our quilting project, in which a handmade quilt is woven and given to each man living there. The quilts will serve as a tangible reminder of our care for one another. |

| Carpenter’s Kids
The Carpenter’s Kids Program is a partnership between the Anglican Diocese of Central Tanganyika and the Episcopal Diocese of New York. “Carpenter’s Kids” are Tanzanian HIV/AIDs orphans and other vulnerable children. The aim of the program is to ensure that each child receives a school uniform, a pair of shoes, breakfast every morning, and adequate school supplies to enable them to attend primary school. |
