Other Mission Partners
San Andres is a dynamic Episcopal church in Yonkers serving a primarily Latino congregation. The congregations of Christ Church and San Andres work together throughout the year in a few ways, including Christ Church donating to the San Andres food pantry. Also, our young people enjoy coming together to work on projects and worship. Mother Yamily Bass-Choate, the Bishop’s Vicar at San Andres, has spoken to the Working Women’s Fellowship, helped organize our mission trip to Cuba and joins us on our annual pilgrimage to the Monastery at Taizé.
Center Lane is the only LGBTQ community center for teens in Westchester County, serving as a place of emotional and social support. The center serves about five hundred kids a year, ages thirteen to twenty-one, through three locations, counseling programs, and educational opportunities all over the county. Center Lane hosts daily drop-in hours, weekly organized groups, and special events throughout the year. In addition, the kids are encouraged to be advocates for their community and the center in various public settings. Christ Church supports Center Lane in a variety of ways. Most recently, Christ Church fundraised to underwrite the cost of Center Lane's annual Potluck Dinner.
